Ultrasonic Inspection & Testing

Ultrasound Facility Testing applies ultrasound technology - very high frequency sound waves that are not detectable by the human ear – to identify issues in a building’s HVAC system to enable a fix prior to a problem growing into a potential catastrophe.

Ultrasonic Detection Analysis

Pro-MEC applies Ultrasonic detection testing to identify a wide range of potential hidden-from-view issues, such as underground leaks, behind-wall leaks, and blockage in pipes. We also use it to detect the following -

BEARING WEAR
Ultrasound can be used to detect worn anti-friction bearings. Unlike vibration analysis, it does not have to be as close to the source because sound travels further then vibration.

COMPRESSED AIR LEAK DETECTION
Ultrasound testing is useful for detection of air-borne noise caused by a leak of either pressure or a vacuum. Ultrasonic analysis can also identify internal leaks such as steam traps, valves, or from one enclosed area to another.

ELECTRICAL PROBLEMS
When electricity escapes in high voltage, it jumps across a gap in an electrical connection. This causes a noise which can be detected by ultrasound.

LACK OF GREASE IN BEARINGS
Ultrasonic testing is a great tool for adding just the right amount of grease to a bearing.
